The film failed just as the first and I think its time that Hollywood let this series die.ĭo you think Nicholas Cage could have done a better job? Did you like the movie? Reply to Nathan in the comment section below. Elba, in my opinion, could be one of Hollywood’s biggest stars in the next couple of years. “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” was bland, the characters uninteresting and the acting overdramatized, which is a shame when you have veteran actors like Nicholas Cage and Idris Elba. Johnny Blaze, tortured by the Ghost Riders curse, gets a chance of redemption through protecting the Devils son, whose father is pursuing him. With Nicolas Cage, Violante Placido, Ciarán Hinds, Idris Elba. No matter how many times I watch “The Dark Knight” I don’t ever see Heath Ledger in the role of the Joker, I merely see the character and that to me is brilliant acting. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance: Directed by Mark Neveldine, Brian Taylor. It’s actors like Johnny Depp and the late Heath Ledger that really know how to make a character truly unique. There was potential for greatness in it, especially since the first film was a decent start to the series. His acting doesn’t provide any insight in to what the character of Johnny Blaze is like because he can’t separate himself from being Nicholas Cage and truly enveloping himself in the role of Johnny Blaze. This film is one of the worst of all the comic book films in the 21st century. As I say about many actors, Cage isn’t Nicholas Cage playing the role of Johnny Blaze he is merely Nicholas Cage playing the role of Nicholas Cage. Nicholas Cage has returned to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze and has brought with him the same stale overdramatic acting seen throughout his film career. If he can protect the child, in return the demon within him will be lifted and his life as “The Rider” will cease to exist. When the Devil tries to take human form in the body of a young boy it’s up to Blaze, as “The Rider,” to stop him and ensure that he doesn’t obtain his full power on Earth. 'The Rider' has apparently grown into an all-consuming force of nature that Blaze desperately tries to hold in check until the presence of evil inevitably sets The Rider loose again, to feed on the souls of the guilty. This sequel story once again follows daredevil cyclist Johnny Blaze (Nicholas Cage), who, after selling his soul to the Devil, has become Ghost Rider “The Spirit of Vengeance.” In Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance we catch up to Johnny Blaze (Nic Cage) many years after the events of the first film. But after seeing the film I realized I had set my expectations too high and was sorely disappointed with what Neveldine and Taylor had created. With Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (directors for “Gamer” starring Gerald Butler), behind the camera, I thought the gritty action-packed style they bring to their films would fit well with the “Ghost Rider” universe. GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE opens February 17th 2012.When “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” was first announced I thought to myself, “this is going to be just as bad as the first one.”Īs it got closer and closer to it’s release date however, I set my expectations a little higher and thought, “you know what this movie might have a chance to succeed where the first one didn’t.” This movie just made it high atop my list of movies to look out for in 2012! Check out all the awesomeness in the trailer below! Just for the record, I really enjoyed the first GHOST RIDER film for what it was. The action looks completely awesome, the darker tone is perfect, and the Ghost Rider fire character effects look way cooler than the first movie. It really looks very cool and over the top just like a Ghost Rider movie should. This trailer looks like the franchise has gotten a new lease on life. Watch Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance with a subscription on Peacock, rent on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, or buy on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu. Well I say shut up and enjoy this awesome trailer for GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE directed by Mark Neveldine and brian Taylor (CRANK series) starring the always talented Nicolas Cage! The film also co-stars Idris Elba (THE LOSERS, THOR) who is fast becoming one of my favorite actors. Holy crap this movie looks cool! I know I know, you thought the first one was crap (or refused to see it), you just loooove making fun of Nic Cage, and most of you already decided to not like this movie just because it seems like the “cool” thing to do.
